Building a home can seem like a daunting task, but you might be surprised at how painless — never mind fun and rewarding — it can be. We are here to assist you with every aspect of the process. With just a brief introduction to the process, you can take a hands-on approach and ensure that the finished product matches the house you've been dreaming about. Here's what you can expect along the way:
DESIGN
You can hire a custom architect or home designer, or choose a stock plan that may be customized to suit your needs. Both yield similar results, but be aware that stock plans are significantly less expensive and available in thousands of choices. We have prepared a catalog of stock plans to provide you with a diverse section of what is available in today's market. We can often “individualize” a plan by customizing some components of a stock plan that better suits your wishes. We also have architectural resources if you desire.
CHOOSING YOUR BUILDER
Finding the right builder is as critical as choosing the right plan. You'll want an experienced professional with a proven track record and solid references. We have over 35 years experience and we will provide references from any of our previous customers. Your builder should also be someone with whom you feel relaxed and with whom you can communicate. Even if a builder is talented, he must be willing and able to consider you a team member in the building process for you to enjoy a truly satisfying experience. We are here to serve you, the client.
FINDING A LOAN
You will need a construction loan for the actual project, but when it is completed, you'll need to convert to a regular mortgage. We have great relationships with the local banks and we can provide you with the information and help you get started.
